It is clear why we should celebrate our teachers. The vital role they play in student success and their extensive influence on students' emotional skills, social abilities, self-esteem, attitude towards learning, and more is monumental.

Teachers support students in becoming well-rounded young adults, teaching them how to socialize properly and show respect. The social and emotional learning that happens in the classroom is crucial for a child's future. Teachers inspire children to explore their passions and career interests, foster creativity, and guide them through challenging and thought-provoking ideas. Creating DIY gifts for educators is our way of showing gratitude for all their hard work and dedication.

Here Are Some Thoughtful Teacher Appreciation Gifts That Are Sure to Bring a Smile on Your Educator’s Face:

1. Handmade Cards

Handmade teacher gifts can have a greater impact on the receiver who feels that you spent time and effort creating something unique for them. A card is just that. You can express how your teacher contributes to your education or life in words or even choose to draw, paint, stick, or get creative in any way to display your gratitude.

2. Pencil Bouquet

This easy craft requires a bunch of pencils, ribbons, craft paper, and glue to design each pencil. For the pot, use an old mug, any rounded cup or stand that can hold the pencils. Do not hold back from getting creative with your designs. For example, cut craft paper in the shape of a flower and stick it to the end of each pencils. Use ribbons to create a braid that can be twirled around another pencil. Not only will your teacher be proud to display your pencil bouquet on her desk, but this gift also has great utility value.

3. DIY Scrub

What better way to say thanks than to give your hardworking teacher the gift of some relaxation? Creating your homemade scrub is easy, inexpensive, and chemical free, making it good for all skin types to use. All you need is some granulated sugar, olive oil, and vanilla essential oil. Mix all 3 of them together and ensure that you use olive oil judiciously, so as not to make the scrub too watery. It can be stored in a glass or tin container for up to 6 months.

4. Crayon Picture Frame

This cool gift requires white cardboard, a frame, glue or glue gun, and a pack of crayons. Put some glue on each crayon to stick it to the cardboard. You can make practically any design that you find meaningful for your teacher. Something as simple as the initial letter of their name can be cute. Remember to cut the crayons into smaller shapes to make best use of the space. Insert the final art into a frame and gift it to your teacher with love.

5. Painted Rock Paper Weights

This is another wonderful gift idea for teachers whose desks are always filled with stacks of paper. Get a smooth stone/pebble, some acrylic paint, varnish, and paintbrushes. Make sure the stones/pebbles are clean and begin painting any design of your choice on it. White stones/pebbles with black polka dots or vice versa is a classic design (just in case you needed an idea). Once the paint dries, give it a good coat of varnish to seal the paint and design. Using a matte finish varnish truly makes the color pop!
